Tardy Policy

Students must be in their classrooms by 7:55 a.m. or they will be considered Tardy. Our Tardy Policy states that students who arrive after the 7:55 a.m. bell must be escorted by the parent to the front office and sign their child in. The parent drop off line can sometimes be long, so please adjust your time accordingly.

Electronic Newsletter

Our monthly school newsletter will be sent out through electronic communication. It will also be posted on our school website at http://oak.leeschools.net. We will have a limited number of hard copies available in the office for those without computer access.

Transportation Changes

If there is any change in the way your child is going home, we MUST have a note with specific instructions. The note must be given to the teacher by the morning of the change in order to clear up any questions that may arise. Please do not email transportation changes to your child’s teachers. They do not always read their emails during the day.

You may email only EMERGENCY transportation changes to [email protected] before 1:00 pm. If we do not get a note, your child will go home their normal way. NO CALLS will be accepted for transportation changes due to safety and security issues.

Early sign outs

Although early sign outs are discouraged, we understand that sometimes an appointment requires you to pick up your child(ren) before the 2:10 p.m. dismissal time.  If this is the case, please send in a note to the teacher the day of the early dismissal change and you must arrive prior to 1:30 p.m. to request your child’s early dismissal from class. If you arrive after 1:30 p.m., you will be asked to wait until our dismissal procedures begin.  As per District Policy 4.16, we cannot do any dismissals after 1:30. Thank you for helping us enforce this policy.  Students will only be released to parents/family members or friends listed on the school emergency contact list and your photo ID or Bear tag will be required.

Counselor Corner

Acceptance is the recognition of the diversity of others, their opinions, practices and culture with a favorable reception.  Why is showing intolerance and acceptance to all individuals important? Recognize and demonstrate acceptance for the differences with one’s community.

  • Listening to the opinions of others even if you don’t agree.
  • Appreciating the differences in others.
  • Speaking in a positive manner.
  • Refraining from forming opinions about people based on how they dress or look.
  • Learning about different cultures.
