Welcome to Three Oaks Elementary

Welcome to Three Oaks Elementary School, the Nation’s First and Best Core Knowledge School!

Our mission is to provide all students an excellent education through a solid, specific, sequenced curriculum.

Three Oaks Elementary is the nation’s first Core Knowledge School. This is a specially designed unique way of teaching reading. It begins in kindergarten. Typically by the end of kindergarten, most students would be able to read even with some fluency. This is not to be confused with common core standards that you might often hear about. Common core standards are the requirements for each grade level and are for the entire state as well as the entire country. Core knowledge also includes science, social studies & character value topics presented in what we call listening and learning. https://www.coreknowledge.org/our-approach/core-knowledge-sequence/

Curriculum Nights:

During our curriculum nights our grade level teachers will have a presentation to share with parents. There will be two presentations within the 4:00-6:00 time frame. The first one starts at 4:00 and the second starts at 5:00. Usually the presentations do not take an hour, but we leave time for any questions. After your presentation, please stop by the media center to complete your volunteer application, quick orientation, and agreement page so you can volunteer at TOE or attend field trips with your children. Please do not wait for the last minute to get this done, as there is a lengthy process that Mrs. Hoppe has to complete in order to get your paperwork into the system.
